This beautiful terraced house is tucked away on one of the Ealing's leafy streets.
The extension was already in place; originally built 30 years ago; but was not meeting the current building regulations. We started from stripping it back to its bare bones. We then added a skylight and bi-folding door opening into the garden and a large load bearing beam to allow for a much wider connection between the kitchen and the living room - previously two rooms were connected by a small doorway, not letting any light into a windowless living room.
The client loves technology and practicality . This is why the kitchen had to be full of clever ideas. The base cabinets' drawers allow for easy access to all crockery. Smart lighting was added so it can be controlled from an I-Pad. The boiler was equipped with a new thermostat which can be accessed though a smart phone from anywhere in the world - this was essential as the client often travels for work. A wine fridge was a must as well as a glass downdraft extractor - we didn't want to spoil the beautiful views of the sky though the extensive sky light.
